I just put up a "First Up" on my back patio! Tomorrow I anchor the feet down and tie the top off.

No more getting wet when it rains, and no rain in my UDS or kettle!

Congrats on modifying the weather. It will be nice that first rain that comes your way.

Yep, place I got has a detached garage from the house, but the entire driveway is covered by a tin roof. Makes the BBQ experience a whole lot more fun, especially the long cook.
First brisket I ever made, it started raining, I started throwing towels, blankets, anything I could find over the cook chamber. I definitely do not miss those days. Well... maybe a little..

So you guys are cooking under the ez-up type tents? Looking at getting one but concerned what that tent would look like on the underside after a good smoke

Makes 'em smell good!
My upright offset's exhaust stack is about 6' tall, so it will cause the smoke to darken the rails and tarp, but it's a necessary evil. If your cooker is shorter (like my UDS or kettles) it's not as bad, especially if there's a breeze. I know what you mean with a new one, but once it's done.....it's done.

You realize that you are asking for some nasty storms to test your anchors now don't you?
