Default First Time cooking on a Dutch Oven/Lot of Pron

Brought a #12 Lodge DO yesterday Made kinda a pork/chicken ragout
heating up DO

Brown 4 pork loin and 4 chicken breast

Took out made a roux

Then cook taters carrots celery and onion with chicken stock

After they was almost done finish pork /chicken with it

Ready to eat

Had it with a crusty butter French bread and milk

A very hearty meal for a winter day. I didn't use charcoal know me to cheap to buy charcoal. Really enjoy cooking on it. Was my first Do cook it went well really enjoy it. When I get back to school going to build a table to cook on

Dang, that makes me want to go out and get a camp DO to add to my oven DO which I use mostly on top of the wood stove.

Sure does look like a nice cold weather meal. Thanks for the pron.

We use dutchies all the time at hunting camp.

We get excellent results with them as well.

Your food looks outstanding for your first time. Cant go wrong with anything cooked in cast iron.
