For other brethren like me who have mediocre knife skills...
I can cook, I own good knives, but my knife skills are average, at best. I can do rough cutting, like you do on big hunks of meat. I can butcher.
When it comes to dicing onions and celery and such, I can do it, but slowly and not very well. I watch chefs on FoodTV dice up an onion in a matter of seconds, and know there is no farking way I'm going to get there, with all my fingers. I'm not a big Williams-Sanoma shopper, but I had a gift certificate, and used it for one of these... http://www.williams-sonoma.com/produ...oMerchRules-_- I love it. I can slice and dice like a farking pro, and not cut off a digit. It was thirty bucks. It works. I'm not ashamed to say I use it, almost daily. CD |

Whatever works is what I say. I can rough cut anything, but when it comes to a fine dice, forget it.

One of my best friend's mom just recently sent me one of those, but I haven't tried it yet. Glad to hear it works, because I'm always skeptical about gadgets.

The store clerk at WS showed me how to use it. You don't want to pound it like a caveman, but give it three to five hits with your fist, so you don't bend the blades. Play with it. You will figure it out in minutes. CD |

We have one of those, not sure its a williams sanoma, but it works like a champ.
Slicing and dicing dosent bother me much, and while im not good at it at all, i hate cleaning more. A half assed attempt chopping with poor results is better for me than great results, and a stretch manual dish washing.

Seriously though, I enjoy going to Williams-Sanoma. I didn't know they sold anything priced as low as $30. But then my eyes are on all the $$$ toys with lots of bling.

Believe it or not, I've seen these or similar devices in restaurants. They work fine

This does the same thing, but faster. Yes, the blades are interchangeable.
