A bit. It's insulated so you can touch the top without burning your hand. Definitely warmer than 10 degrees though !

Looking good Gary! another good way to pre heat splits on it is to move your basket to the left side (so its closer to the intakes) and put one log outside the charcoal basket IN the firebox. Does that make sense? That should keep it far enough away form the fire but warm it up good.

The color on those butts looks great but that pit has got me interested.
