Anybody subscribe to this magazine ?? I tried to call them and it says the Number is temporalily out of order.

Jules

I thought we had, never recieved anything but the first issue. Totally forgot about it until you posted this.

I only got one mag. too and payed for a year subscription, did they go outta business already....

I did a Google search and the BBQ World website is still up.

I also found a "Twitter" page for them....but; the last "Tweet"
BBQ World sent out was last year on November 2008.

I couldn't find anything about it going out of business......but; it kind
of looks like it may have.
Here is the Twitter link if you want to try and learn more.

I just noticed on their twitter page is says it is 6 magazines a year...so 1 every
two months.....Thier address and phone number are listed on the page if you
want to try and contact them......it doesn't look too promising though.

I remember something about this on another forum. The editor said (no joke) that because the first issue was so popular he was going to hold off printing more and continue to plug issue #1. He also claimed that he would be extending the subscription to cover 6 issues even if it took more than a year to publish them. As far as I'm concerned all that is code for "Holy crap, we're broke!"

Yea that was one great issue :)
I wondered how they could do such a high quality production
when I saw it in Nashville...........
Well looks like they could not........ Nice folks sad to see.

I wrote one story for them (think it was for the May-June issue) and have yet to be paid. Haven't heard from them since August.

If anyone could do me a favor and post a list of their writers, it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

Amy Mills Tunnicliffe from 17th St wrote an article in the only published issue called Growing up BBQ. Ironically, I wrote an article with the exact same title a year earlier that was published on my blog and eventually on the front of the Bullsheet.

My daughter subscribed to it for me. I got the first issue and was waiting for the second to arrive in July. It never came so I called and talked to them. I was told that the next issue would go out in January and that the length of the subscription would be extended. I guess that we will just have to wait and see.

If anyone has info on the publisher's contact info I would be interested. I have been a printer for almost 30 years, and recently sold my company.

I am now a business restructuring specialist, and business broker. I am sure there is value here and would like to see if I can help out.
