Made some beef jerky (no pics)
So I made some beef and deer jerky this past weekend. I didn't smoke it, but the recipe I came up with is in my opinion amazing. I figured I have learned so much from other people's recipes on here that I should share my recipe with you all.
This recipe was for around 10lbs of meat so judge accordingly. 2 cups of soy sauce 1 cup teriyaki marinade 1 cup molasses 2 1/2 cups brown sugar 2 tbs onion powder 2 tbs garlic powder 1 tbs white pepper 2 tbs coarse ground pepper 3 tbs crushed red pepper Marinate meat for at least 12 hours. I used a dehydrator and my oven to cook my jerky (shooting for a temp around 160-170) for 8-10hrs. The flavor was incredible. Initially you get sweet and then the heat creeps up in the end. I'm hoping to use my smoker next time but I don't know how hard it would be to control those kind of temps for that amount of time.
