Default Judges Needed - Des Plaines Winter Burnoff - 2/12 Rand River Bowl, Des Plaines IL

Just saw on this events site they now have 23 teams, but only 13 judges. They are looking for any KCBS certified judges to fill the gaps. Not a qualifier, but still a fun event for a good cause. For anybody already registered to cook this one, they are also looking for more chili entrants

Details at www.kresmokers.com

They are still looking for a few more judges. Let KRESMOKERS know if you can make it.

Bump!

I'm thinking if they don't have enough certified, at this point, they might take uncertified, so if you're in the area, come on out.

Chili Contest
1 2 Skinny Cooks!
(With a chili verde made with our spare rib trimmings, and a mix of Anaheim, Jalapeno, serrano, and poblano chiles, all fire roasted, along with about 35 roasted tomatillos, and a mess of carmelized onion and garlic, seasoned with salt, fresh ground pepper, cumin, and corriander) I didn't think it would do well as it was rather thin in consistency, but it sure did taste good!

The weather was cold, as usual. I think it was 14 out when we got in the truck, but warmed up to low 30's. A little windy off and on, but overall, a very nice day, considering last year it rained all day, and a few years back, it was about 3 degrees with a -30 wind chill!

Thanks BTW, to Kwas68, who we met at the Sweet Baby Ray's brethren gathering, and who came out to learn and help us out and hopefully learn a few things. And also to Dan from the same brethren get together, whose handle here I'm not sure of!
