KCBS Tie Breaker Rules - Team of the Year

Kansas City BBQ Society has posted the rules for Team of the Year Tie Breaker.

It was only a matter of time, until teams would succeed in perfect seasons. Bar-B-Quau was the first team this season to earn the perfect 75 points. Close in the chase, being separated by only three points is Lotta Bull BBQ, with 72 points.

The rules to break a tie for team of the year were passed by the Board this summer and are now posted on the KCBS Website.

Here's the details from the KCBS website

Starting this year, there will be a new procedure added for determining the KCBS team of the year. If, when the dust settles at the end of the year, there are two or more teams tied in the overall team of the year standings, the sixth best overall contest finish will be included to break the tie. If, after this additional contest is included, a tie remains, the next best overall finish by the teams will be reviewed. This additional consideration will continue until there is one team of the year. This new procedure will be utilized only for the overall team of the year. Other finishes for team of the year and the four categories will remain with the opportunity for co-champions or multiple teams finishing in each of the top ten places.
