I can only speak for North Texas, where the meats are outstanding. I also agree that Kirkland branded items are generally very good. Their dog foods are very highly rated -- it's all psycho-poodle eats.
The dried herbs and spices at my COSTCO are also excellent. They have some good cheeses, too -- perfect for cold smoking. But, I mainly have a membership for the fresh meats, and the seasonal seafood offerings. I buy in bulk, and vacuum seal smaller portions for freezing. I also get things like bulk towels for the kitchen there, but I get them in the automotive area. They work great, and cost less. Be careful. It is easy to overspend in COSTCO. You can get sucked into "bulk mania." Not every bulk buy is a good buy. Many aren't. You really have to do the math, and decide whether the bulk deal beats what you can get at the supermarket. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. CD |

I Love love love costco; missed it so much when we lived in New Zealand.
So glad to be back where I do not have to pay almost $30 for a rack of ribs lol.

Glad to see that you enjoyed it.
Kirkland's shredded Mexiacan blend cheese - I love it! We always have a bag or two in my refrigerator. Great for quesadillas, omelets, and as a salad topping. I picked up two bags just this past weekend. Now this coming weekend it looks like a Sam's Club trip for me for a freezer and whatever else strikes my fancy. Just doing my part to stimulate the economy!

One of our favorite Costco items are Aidell's chicken sausages and Italian bufala mozzarella. In the states, they sell prime beef (in a blue styrofoam tray) and pretty good seafod - tuna steaks, lobster tails, salmon, etc.

other than meat, one of the most useful things i've gotten there is a large roll of heavy duty foil. its about 2 feet wide. i'm not at home right now so i cant tell you how long the roll is but its huge. it's meant for a restaurant but is great for the home. i use the foil like crazy, and not just for wrapping meat.
