Default East Texas BBQ Travels - Slaughter’s, Ernie’s, Guess Family

I spent Father’s Day weekend on a Texas road trip and hit a few BBQ joints that I’d been wanting to try.

First up is Slaughter’s BBQ Oasis in Sulphur Springs.

The Chipotle Cheddar Sausage at Guess was really something special. It comes pretty close to Tejas Chili Relleno Sausage in terms of taste and uniqueness. Everything there was very good, but I preferred the brisket and ribs at the other two places. Slaughter's was the big surprise for me. I was blown away by pretty much everything there. I really loved Ernie's, too. Their cheese grits were one of the best things I had all weekend. :)
