2017 Bacon Fest!

This was Gore's Winning Entry in the 2009 "Bacon" Throwdown!

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION - READ BEFORE ENTERING

1. Cook bacon! The bacon can be standalone or it can be part of a dish of your choosing. Be creative!

2. Standard Throwdown rules apply.

3. MULTIPLE ENTRIES ARE ALLOWED and encouraged for this TD!

You may submit entries that are cooked from Friday 5/5 through the entry submission deadline of 12 p.m. Central US Time on Tuesday 5/30/17.

Entry pictures must be submitted by 12 p.m. Central US Time on Tuesday 5/30.

Please accept this as my Throwdown entry:

My first shot at Beer Can Burgers: Homemade chorizo/bacon venison mix, stuffed with three meat chili (home cured bacon ends,brisket, and ground pork), topped with smoked manchego cheese, and wrapped in home cured ancho chili bacon. Smoked with some hickory on the Weber Performer.

I submit a bacon wrapped Prime Filet Mignon, bacon jam glazed bacon wrapped shrimp, bacon and sausage wrapped cheddar cheese stuffed avocado, bacon wrapped asparagus, and bacon wrapped cream cheese filled jalapeños.

Not sure if uncured pork belly counts as bacon. If so, great! If not, I get my first Dilly Bar!

But it doesn't matter, as these were insanely good.

Been seeing all the cool kids posting pork belly "burnt ends" on the Book of Face. Was skeptical... Not any more. These are insanely awesome.
