I was wondering if there were any teams in Iowa that would be willing to let me see what it takes to compete here in Iowa. I would like to see all the work that it takes to compete. I would like to see what kind of equipment and other assorted hardware that is needed as well.

You are welcome to come check us out in Nevada. I don't typically sleep on site, so it might be best to make sure you have some sleeping plans. Friday night is pretty uneventful. The real action happens on Saturday. I will be with Holy and Oly's.

That would be in late August if I am correct? I will be there.

You guys are the reason I go to a hotel!

Actually, if my kids aren't going to be there I will probably bring my cot.

Do either of you know of any campgrounds in the area where I can set my tent up at? I have been looking online, but haven't been able to find one yet.

There is typically an open field next to the contest that I know a few judges have used in the past to camp. Might contact the contest organizer and see if you can set up there. It is literally across the street.

is there any one out there that would take this, from an old redneck and his proper lady under their wing. We have finnished the build on our smoker and visited several contests, We really want to start competing the first of the year, but need to have someone pull the reigns in and teach us the right way to do this from box making judging. If any body is up for it hit me up..
