Is this stuff any good and is it legit East Texas rub? Or are they just using key words to market to us Northerners?

My main concern is that "natural smoke flavor" is listed in the ingredients. I've never heard of anyone using that in a legit rub.

I’ve used it and like it a lot. Never had anything bad from John Henry’s. You gotta try the pecan rub it’s the bomb.

I will definitely do that! My local butcher in MN sells about a dozen different flavors. Never seen them before, and wasn't too sure about the "smoke flavoring." But if you say it's good, I'll try it out! Thank you for the feedback.

I've been using John Henry's for about 15 years. Still have about 6 or so different "flavors" around here. If you ever get to Houston stop by his shop just off North I-45 for a visit. You can taste all the stuff he has while there and buy in small bottles or bulk bags. Plus if he is there at the time he is a neat guy to visit with.
