Any chance you know Penguin Ed?

Yup sure do! They have 2 locations now. The original on Crossover and they bought the B & B BBQ and renamed it Penguin Ed's B & B. I live close to the one on Crossover and work close to the B & B so I get to partake as often as I want of their stuff!

We've gained a few other really good BBQ joints lately too!

Glad to have you aboard here!

PS. Don't let Funk get ya down! You'll learn TONS from him! He's forgotten more about BBQ than I'll ever know! Most around here prescribe to the no gas mantra, but just about everyone has a gasser on the patio next to their kettles and drums and stick burners! :)

Glad you threw that qualifier in there. The only gas I use is to light my chimney! Even my kids deride those on TV who use gas grills.
If I can find the right Weber gasser on CL for the right price, I might add one.

Welcome to the best clubhouse on the web!

Welcome to another left coast BBQer. There is a lot of good information on this site.Usually if the answer is not here. It hasn't been ask or isn't about BBQ. I also have a Weber Q .I use it mostly when we camp, but do fired it off during the year to do a quick dinner. The way I see it you cook on the stove/oven in the kitchen. Next use the gas griller outside and Finally Nirvana the Smoker/Cooker outside. I prefer the Smoker/cooker myself as does the family.
