Whats the best lid for it, ring with a bolt or a snap tight?
Thanks for your opinions.

I don't have a lock ring for mine.

After a couple uses it fits nice and tight.

When i first built mine i thought i'd use the locking ring but soon realized there was no need.

Just use the drum lid sans lock ring. It'll seal just fine without it.

Yep. We've built 6-7 drums and all of the came w/ locking rings. As long as you have a good fitting lid, a ring isn't really critical.

Locking ring got thrown out on both of mine, no need for it. If you burn it out, do not put the lid on it, you will warp it at that high of temperature.
