I love the innovation but I can't get beyond the potential for hot coals to be blown everywhere and potentially cause a fire. When I run my offset I have no worries because the fire is enclosed inside a giant piece of metal. On the KBQ the fire is open and especially the bed of coals is open to the wind.

It really looks like a cool smoker with some great ideas, but it's something that couldn't be left alone at all. It's similar to burning wood down to coals in a burn barrel...you've got to be on top of that barrel every single second.

They love these smokers over at AmazingRibs.com. I've studied the design, and it looks kinda cool. As I understand it, the designer builds them one at a time in his garage. I wonder how customer service is after the sale in a (basically) one-man company.

Is it better than a Gateway or Jambo Backyard? I can't believe that it could be.

I want one but this is my concern...it gets windy here, especially in the dry months. That being said I still want one. Another tool in the toolbox etc.
