Got an email from the organizer today on this contest $125 entry fee. I dont see it on the KCBS calendar but the app says KCBS rules

Vending price a little steep for seven hours of vending. Cheap entry for depending on prize money. Very close, I'm in.

This looks like a good option for another get my feet wet comp this year. Love the entry fee. Booked a fishing trip durring Que by the Sea without realizing they were the same weekend.

I contacted the organizer about the contest:
Since this is our first event, it's not a full blown KCSB sanctioned event.But they will be helping us with the judging and overall organizing of this event.
No it's not a state championship event.
There will be more info available about KCBS's involvement on our web site in the very near future.
The BBQ and blues in the park event web site is still under construction.

It's also the same weekend as Shrewsbury, PA which is organized by Melvin (New Holland) and Hedgeville, WV. I think we'll go with a known organizer like Melvin. I do like the entry fee at Mt Holly, but I don't see anything about prize money.
