After reading these articles and doin my own testing I find them to be true. But I do get steam when using the chicken sitter with preboiled beer. Shove 1/4 a onion in the neck and seal the cavity for awesome beer steam flavored chicken
You can actually see steam coming out of the chicken neck that is shoved full of onions for extra flavor.

I think that article is a little jerky.

If you use the beer can holder thing, you get the best part of it. You have a chubby, put the beer/soda in the water pan... it will evaporate from there for sure.

I'd hit that.

There was plenty of moisture in the chicken and had the a hint of sweetness from the sodas.
