Default Prime Beef

Just read on Yahoo that there is glut of prime beef on the market right now. Seems the high end steak houses are really hurting with the economy and not buying as much.

The article said you could get prime at Costco for $9/# - just curious if any of you have seen this happening around the country? I can't check it out here for a week or two but just curious. And I don't have a Costco but have some other options.

Might be time for some really good steaks

My butcher sell's every thing for $5.99 a lb one 1/2 hour before the market closes on Saturday's.This includes black angus,so you can guess where I am every Sat. at 12:30.That angus beef makes me look like pro,I can't go back now.

I picked up 6 rib eyes at the local costco for $8.99 a lb last week. They had the full prime rib roast @ $7.99 lb I believe.

So I guess we could be getting prime beef with a little extra aging.
