Hi all and thanks for letting me be a part of your forum.

For years I've tried smoking meats on my barbeque but was never happy with the results. I love roasting all types of meats. It gets hot here in summer so it's great to be able to cook outside.

I saw this gas smoker for sale (below) at Aldi for $199 and decided to give it a go for a birthday present.

Myself and my family and friends have been amazed at the results. In two weeks, I've cooked chicken breast wrapped in bacon (twice as it was so good), roast beef, steak, sausages, lamb chops, lamb shanks and a whole chicken. Everything I have cooked has been fantastic. All smoked on Hickory so far as that's all I had at home but I'm off to find some different wood chips to use.

I went searching for recipes and stumbled on your forum. I'm looking forward to being part of a group as passionate about cooking meat as I am.

Below is the first roast beef I cooked. It was the most juicy, tasty beef I've had. The family (wife + 4 children) loved it. I've now been talked into cooking roast beef and pork for about 40 people for Christmas lunch. Hopefully the results continue to be great.

Welcome.

Can we trade locations for a couple of weeks? The Gold Coast sounds like a dream about now.

Welcome, David! Happy you're here. Folks in this place are kinda fanatical about their meat smoking, too. You're in good company! You're gonna love this place!

Welcome from another newbie.

I spent six years in the Alice and two of my kids were born there. Haven't had a good Aussie bbq in over ten years.
