Transporting a medium BGE to competitons...

Was thinking of building a small, compact stand and putting it in back of truck... Any suggestions on transporting them safely?

This is the safest way.

I use to put a bag of lump inside to keep anything from bouncing around. Now I just roll the nests into the trailer and strap them to the walls.
