Contest Announcment Lakeside Que-topia, St. Peters, Missouri, September 14th & 15th 2012

Central County Fire & Rescue Community Outreach is proud to host "Lakeside Que-topia" barbeque competition. This event is Kansas City Barbeque Society State Championship event. The event is set to take place on Friday, September 14th - Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at the 370 Lakeside Park in St. Peters, Missouri.

Teams will put their skills to the test as they compete in four (4) food categories. Certified KCBS judges will then taste and score each of the dishes. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top (5) five in each category. The team with the highest tabulated score will then be declared the Grand Champion. $8,250 in prize money will be awarded to the winners.

In addition to the KCBS categories, there will also be a dessert competition, kids-que, people's choice, and best site decoration contest.

Thank you. I had a great time thanks to some good help and some great teams. We learned a few things and many of the Brethren gave me some pointers that I am adding to this year's event.

The city is bringing in more entertainment, allowing us to offer vending, and there is a strong possibility that there may be some additional sites by the time that we have the contest.
