Anyone know all the contest that they plan on doing in 07?

Becky -
We are starting in Osage City..
Smoke in The Spring
WildCat BBQ Battle
Platte City
Okie Joes/Speedway
GAB
Masters BBQ Championship (wichita)
That gets us through June...

I have only committed to 2 this year so far.

Wildcat BBQ, and the GAB.

Speaking of which, how can we get "Brethren/Skid Row" lined up?

We plan to start at Stillwater in March, then Osage City and Sugar Creek in April, Lawrence and GAB in May, after that we're still deciding.

IF finances are there (could be a serious shortage of BBQ cash this year):

April: Jefferson City and MAYBE Warsaw
May: Platte City and GAB
June: Sedalia and Cameron
July: none
August: Dillon, CO
September: Racine, WI or Hermann, MO
October: DeSoto, KS or Columbia, MO

Gonna have to cut back at least due to the Hawai'i trip.

Still trying to find some fill in, but these are through June so far.
Sugar Creek
GAB
Lenexa

I am doing North Kansas City, osage city, sugar creek, that is March and April. May is Minnesota in May. June 1st and 2nd is south dakota's only KCBS bbq event located in Huron. whoever wins this goes to the Jack!!
that is all the planning I have done so far.

No Osage this year Jeff?

This is my plan for my first year:
April - Salisbury,MD
May - Bristol, PA
July - Stevensville, MD
Aug - Hopefully New Holland, PA if I can get in or Bel Air, MD
Oct - Dover, DE

I think that's enough for the first year. I should have a good idea by then if I'm cut out for it.

April: Hy-Vee Barry Road Cookoff

May: Lawrence Sertoma 48 BarBQ

June: Raytown for sure.
Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle if we get in.

July: Kiwanis Club of Durango's Smokin' 4th BBQ Shootout
Durango, CO

August?

September. Blue Spring Blaze off if we get in

And of course
October
28th Annual American Royal BBQ

Luckily we have a large team and can split the costs. I'm going solo to Durango with my family and anyone else on the team who wants to come but I think it will only be me and mine.

Our tentative schedule looks like this:

March 24th: Snoeshoe Grilling Challenge, Abington, MA

March 31st: Grilling on the Bay, Brooklyn, NY

May 19-20: Rhode Island State BBQ Championship, Warwick, RI

May 26-28: Connecticut State Championship, Lime Rock, CT (contest tentative)

June 23-24: Either New Hampshire or East Hartford, CT

July 6-8: Guitarbeque, Asbury Park, NJ

July 28-29: Harpoon BBQ Championship of New England (hopefully)

August 18-19: Hudson Valley Ribfest, New Paltz, NY

September 8-9: Rib and Brews Festival, Lowell, MA

We may try to hit Lake Placid again this year too.

The Snowshoe (MA) has just been confirmed as March 24th NOT the 10th~! We really didn't want to have it back to back with Grillin' On The Bay but the VFW is booked up on the other dates.

So sorry guys!

Now back to the original question...

I am judging twice in March (Snowshoe MA and Brooklyn NY)
maybe more depending...
Salisbury, MD in April (with a side trip to Six Flags NJ with the Cold Cuts)
Lime Rock, CT in May (hopefully)
Peter's Pond MA, Merrimac NH and Lake Placid NY in June
(back to back to back) eek!
Lincoln NH (possibly) and Harpoon VT in July
Hudson Valley in August
Lowell MA in September
American Royal in October (first time!)
and ... if we get really REALLY lucky...
nope... I'm not saying it... dont wanna jinx it...
the rest of the 'meats will KILL me!

Of course, this could just be me a'wishin' and a'hopin'....

We'll see y'all out there...

lunchlady

p.s. with the exception of Peter's Pond MA...they are ALL at least Sat/Sun events. Some are three (or more with travelling) days. Although I don't have a clue about the Royal.... anyone?

No Osage this year Jeff?

Nope we have a sponsor in Jefferson City and while it's most exopensive to enter, it'll be cheaper in the long run,.
