A friend of mine asked me last night for a recipe and cooking method for sliced pork shoulder. He said that his wife doesn't like pulled pork, reminds her of hamburger helper. But, he wants to sneak some pork in tomorrow for dinner. Any suggestions?

Robert, just pull from cooker at 190 instead of 200. Sliced instead of pulled.

Sliced butt needs to be pulled off the cooker at 170 to 175 internal much higher and will not slice very well.

I was at the OU/Baylor football game last week in Waco TX, and went to grab a couple of hot dogs but they were out. Only thing they had was a pork loin sandwhich---one of the best things I've ever had at a sporting event. I've done pork loin taking it all the way up to TK's(Bill's) pork loin recipe with good success. But this was evidently pulled from the cooker much earlier and sliced very thinly with a slicer. Definitely will try this on next loin. Made excellent sliced pork.

The loin can be pulled as early as 160 - let it rest a bit and then thin slice it!
