I leave in the morning for five glorious days of camping. I'll have the iPad with me, and I think the State Park I'm going to actually has wifi. I'll believe it when I see it. If not, I know my iPhone will have service there, since I go there every year.

I'm still hoping to be dazzled with some amazing fast food. Maybe I'm expecting too much.

I'm also anxious to see how Gore is going to get a DQ in this one.

inspired by DQ's chicken tender basket....

they serve with slices of bread, meh, i decided fried chicken and waffles is better. then i decided waffle batter fried chicken was even better than that. needed a drink too. i think a smoked chocolate and vanilla shake would do nicely. needed some fries, so here's what i made.

the basic ingredients.

fastfood1.JPG

i broke up the chocolate and into a pyrex container to melt and get some smoke flavor on the grill and then i mixed up the waffle batter.

fastfood2.JPG

i then whisked some vanilla ice cream, milk, the melted chocolate, and some cayenne pepper in a bowl. not the consistency i wanted, so i had to double boil this mixture, cool, it, add more ice cream and blend it to get my smoked chocolate and vanilla shake.

fastfood3.JPG

i seasoned with S&P and floured and battered the chicken tenders.

fastfood4.JPG

onto the grill @ 400*

fastfood5.JPG

and plated up.

waffle battered smoked chicken tenders dressed with alabama white sauce, with oakridge baked fries, drizzled with blues hog tennesse red, and a spicey smoked chocolate and vanilla shake. served with pure canadian maple syrup and blues hog original for dipping.

hope you like. this will be my entry photo.

well, kinda...i mixed the batter a bit too think. they were crispy, but not as not as airy and light n crunchy as i had hoped. very tasty nonetheless.

the chicken inside was exceptionally tender and moist though, being sealed inside the batter like that.
