Water pans
I have read it doesn't mater what you put in your water pan it is only there to create moisture, but it seems like this is an opportunity to add another layer of flavor. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Adding stuff to your water pan will make the air/smoke around your cooker smell nice. I don't believe that adding anything to the water pan will somehow impart flavors into the meat you are cooking. Feel free to try it, but I have never noticed a difference.

save your money or use the liquids for drinking or other uses of value..
Years ago, I used everything from pans of fruit juices, beer, broth etc. Never made any difference..

I used 3 beers last time figuring that it had something to do with the greatness of beer can chicken... Now more upset as I ran out of beer and thought it had at least gone to good use...Damn it!!

I use sand in a water pan in my uds as a diffuser when I need it but it never makes it taste like the beach.
