Speck Report
For those who may be interested, my fishing trip out of Cocodrie was outstanding. We fished the Gulf side of Last Island with no wind and seas slick calm. We boxed 68 big, fat, beautiful yella mouths all between 11/2 lbs and 3lbs. The highlight of the trip; however, was when my nieghbor's 83 year old father(who was at Guadal Canal) hooked and boxed a 26 lb bull red. It took him about ten minutes on really light tackle. I will post pics when I figure out how.

No dolphin; yellowfin are plentiful. We were not deep enough to catch any. Just chasin trout on the barriers. Had an elderly guest from the "Greatest Generation" on board. An honest to God hero; a WW2 Marine Corps veteran. The guy (83) fished hard in the heat for 5 hours, drank about a case of Budweiser, and told some of the most fascinating stories that I have ever heard.
