Another awesome SF cooker. It was actually the pictures of your cooker there that made me order a patio model with the cabinet style doors.

That and my wife is an awesome cook, but a little vertically challenged. I thought the doors would allow her to enjoy using the cooker too.

Man, I thought the wait would be easy, but seeing all these fine SF cookers is not making it easy. I feel like a kid in October dreaming about Christmas day.

We've all been there. The wait is torture, but the end product is worth it!

Five hours into the cook and was time to wrap the brisket in butcher paper. Right at 160*.

Also threw on three slabs of St. Louis spare ribs rubbed with Yardbird.

Pit has been absolutely steady at 275-300*. I even had time to run to the store to pick up some things without having the temp go haywire on me. Took me a while to get the bed of coals I needed to achieve this stability so I think next time I'm going to fire it up with more lump and probably 4-5 sticks. I did two chimneys of lump and two sticks.

We even had a visitor to see what was cooking....a crane that was probably 4ft tall!

Is crane edible? If so, she'd fit on your bottoms shelf...

VERY nice pit!!! Every SF build I've ever seen (which has only been pictures I've seen on here) has been OUTSTANDING! Congrats to you for your purchase, and AWESOME JOB SF!!!

Oh, and to quote something you said.....
"Paul is not only a brother in BBQ but a brother in Christ as well and his wife Sharon is a Godly woman whose hospitality was unbelievable."

THAT. THAT right there is the reason I will own a SF pit one day (when I win the lottery, sell a kidney or whatever). And Tuscaloosa, if you're reading this, I'd be happy to do advertising or whatever for you up here in KY in exchange... A lot of the use would be for the High School Marching Band my son and daughter are in (they travel throughout KY and TN for band competitions. There's a LOT of free advertising for ya right there...especially when we go to the Contest Of Champions at MTSU )

man that pit is nice, I really like the red...it looks great! how do you like that cabinet? it seems like it would be easier to get in and out of vs the top hinged door

I like the cabinet. I didn't really have anything against the traditional "tube" but seemed like I was going to get several extra square inches of cooking space for basically the same price so I figured what the heck. The extra space is in the top rack as the shelf can be deeper in a cabinet style.
