Spares w/ Pecan?
I'm going to smoke some Costco spares tomorrow. I bought a bag of pecan chunks and was going to use them with Kingsford comp. Good idea?

IMO Pecan is a milder version of Hickory. Good stuff. The Pecan + the comp sounds like a winning combo to me.

I love using pecan on all food. The aroma that pecan puts out during the cook is nothing short of heavenly. I consider it a milder smoke wood, more along the lines of a fruit wood. But the food always turns out stellar.
Some of my best ribs have been cooked using a mix of half pecan, quarter apple, and quarter cherry.

All good advice here. You'll probably keep pecan on hand forever after this cook.
