Default Had to abort, all is good!

Started the fire at 4:00.

And built a 6 inch coal bed of oak, mostly red & live oak.

Prepped the 2 inch bone in rib eyes with S&P and a little garlic.

And were literally 10 minutes from starting to cook when the bottom fell out of a lightening storm.

We got 2 inches in 45 minutes, killed to fire in the new pit. Bummed out, but we needed the rain on our pastures really bad so I'm cool. We fired up the 26.75 OGT on the back patio (under cover) and seared the rib eyes to rare. No pics but they were great, just 45 minutes late. We will take another run at the new Santa Maria ranch grill soon.
PS: thanks landarc for the cooking tips, we will use them soon.

You pit looks lonely out there even though it has a folding table to keep it company.

Oh yea we ate 'em. Moved the cook under cover to the 26.75 OTG and seared them rare, just to hectic to take pics.
