For my wsm i like to use 2 or three chunks of wood, each no larger than my fist.

I cut my quarters into half, i like em small. I use an electric splitter to get em that way.

Yeah some of my logs were 18-24" diameter so they got split into about 10ths. Some cherry logs I have are only 6" diameter so they get 1/2'ed and all in between. I like the final result to be about 3"-4" around (though not necessarily round).
