Personally, I would'nt waste my time with a double drum smoker, (I built a beautiful one of Stainless drums) just do a UDS, way more efficient, but thats just my opinion.

Nice drum zopi!

Cover the intake holes to manage temp not the exhaust holes.

Didn't say that too well...using magnets to cover the intake and a few of the exhaust holes after the temp comes up and I don't want it backdrafting much in a breeze...

It dropped about 25 degrees awhile ago, so I tweaked it and it's doing fine again...

I will have to have a better charcoal basket...

Hey, Typ! It's about time you got that thing done. And you hit it on the head. That thing is uuuuuuggg-lee. Pretty graphic. Too bad there's no design on it...

Glad you finally got it done. Now you've got no excuse for resorting to salads and such for lunch. Those balls look pretty good. RKK would be proud...

i had to make sure the thing worked before i painted it! i was thinking either cow spots or camo. i'm in no rush for that though, as long as it keeps producing tasty q i could paint it brown with corn chunks!!

Gate Valve Versus Ball Valves. Does it make a real difference?

I can get more Gate Valves for free, I've scrounged the town pretty good for short throw ball valves, looks like any more I'm going to have to pay for, salvage price or new price and the two keep getting closer to each other. Seems now that people know I really want them and I'm searching high and low, suddenly there is a price attached. (I should have flown a little lower to get below the radar small town and all that.)

The plan is for 5 drums over the next 8 months. The first is going to be a totally basic. Then I'll start building in the "I wants to have"

No consensus or input on charcoal basket sizes?
