First Time Vending
We participated in a small local competition on Saturday. There were only 7 teams. We placed 3rd in pork and 1st in ribs. It was also our first time vending. We cooked 9 butts (our capacity while leaving room for comp meats) and sold them all by 4 o’clock in an absolute downpour. We even had one lady just mad that we had run out of meat. After turn in time we even sold every last scrap of the leftover comp meats. I’m not sure why there were so many people out buying BBQ in a monsoon but I’m thankful! Some of them were friends and family but the vast majority of customers were people we’ve never met before. I’m guessing this is fairly unusual and we shouldn’t expect this kind of response every time.

Very unusual. Rain usually means you lose your shirt in vending.
