Yes, that's a good deal. Shipping is $5.95. I just placed my order. Thanks for the heads up. It's hard to beat German stainless steel. These are also guaranteed.

My $0.02 for what its worth. It is a good deal but it appears that its some false advertising on Macy’s part (big shocker:evil:). These appear to be the budget “Gourmet” line from Whustof which are not hand forged as advertized. They are stamped from the same steel as the “Classic” and the Grand Prix II” lines.

Note “Laser Stamped” under construction:

I have a set of Classic knives and a Gourmet steak knife set for the guests. The gourmet knifes are noticeably cheaper quality and thinner but do hold and edge quite well. I opted for the cheaper steak knives as guests don’t generally share the same compassion for quality knives.

More info and the different lines here:

In summary it is a pretty good deal for what you are getting and I would consider purchasing the set if it wasn’t from Macy’s. My opinion on Macy’s is not relevant here and not a good one at that.

Just tried to order and they say the item is no longer available:sad:

Forchner Forchner Forchner - or one of the good grades of Wustof or Henkel if you have the cash.

I have a set of those from a promotion at Central Market. Sharp little guys. i let the Mrs use them. I put one in my lunch bag when needed.
