Asbury Park

"The gay community in Manhattan had already sniffed this out as the next big place to live," says Steve Troy, a former advertising executive who bought a home here in 2000 and moved with his partner, Robert Legere, from New York City. "I saw this was an amazing opportunity."

So much for that.

I hope that Asbury Park takes off. It's a great location but the coruption down there in legendary. I've seen articles about asbury's rebirth for 20 years.

30 years since gambling was allowed in Atlantic City, and still, if you walk one block west of the boardwalk at night you WILL get mugged. Asbury won't be any different.

A.C. is one farked up place, man. Limos rolling up to the casinos across the street from the projects, pawn shops and hookers.

Man, I love that town!

That was a joke. Or was it?

Correct Matt. Not a drop of that money got back into the community like promised. Asbury won't be any different. You will buy a nice condo on the beach but you won't be able to walk to the grocery store.
