Im looking to get started in vending and/or catering. How much do I need to charge for pulled pork sandwiches if vending or how much do I need to charge per butt for catering? I just did a benefit with 5 butts. All the stuff to make the 5 butts and hot dogs plus all the paper products, drinks, sauce etc casted $400. They only charged $5 for a sandwich/dog with chips and a drink. I don't think that was enough.

Do a search on here and you'll find lots of info. Depends on your cost and your serving size. If you buy supplies in bulk, your upfront costs may be more but your per person cost drops as a result and profit ends up being higher. Some say take your cost and triple it when selling. For me, I do whats comfortable to me when I'm vending. Give people a fair deal and put cash in your pocket.
