Default Oysters and Clams for my BDay

When Island Creek ran a special for Memorial Day Weekend, I knew what I was making for my birthday. After downing many raw oysters with Waldo Farms champagne tarragon mignonette, I fired up the 26” kettle and made a big pan of oysters and clams in beer and butter. Somehow I missed the shot of them on the grill (beer). I’m full and happy. Fullers London Pride was the accompanying pint. Cheers!

They’re definitely briny! Fully understand that. We get some nice oysters here in NC too, Devil Shoals from OBX are really nice, but I tend to eat those during the colder months.

They’ve always been awesome for customer service, and we just really love the ICOs. I’ve tried many different kinds (Aunt Dotties, Mookie Blues, Wellfleet, Raspberry Point, Rochambeau, Bluepoints, etc), but always come back to ICOs. They’re my favorites.

I’m a big fan of the Mookies, Pemaquids, and the John’s Rivers
All grown around the same area on the Damariscotta River in Maine
When I hear that ICO has them in I hightail it right down there !
Even if it’s not my birthday !!!!
