I have had one for about 2 years and it hasn't died yet. Places must be cleaning out remote thermometers right now. I picked up a Maverick Ready Chek today at our local Canadian Tire store for $15 which was half the listed price.

I have 4 of them. 2 of them are 3 yrs old, and are still working good. I payed $30 for the first 2, and $5 last year for the others. For $7.50, I'd buy all I could get hold of.

I have one also, use it all the time, have checked it several times and it is very accurate, I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow, great gift for BBQ buddies and the price is right!
