Thank you for getting the kids out there fishing.

Doesn't everybody have 3 Weber kettles? And 2 gassers? And a couple of smokers?
And a couple of turkey fryers? And a Blackstone griddle? And a few other things I'm probably forgetting?

Yep. Totally normal. No need to panic...

I used to have more charcoal grills, because they rusted out after a few years. It gave me a chance to try out different styles-ones that allowed you to crank the cooking grate up and down, different rotisserie setups, rectangular and circular grates. Then I bought my first Weber kettle and all that's left of the others are some of the grates, which we use as cooling racks.

Anymore, most of my cooks are for 4 or less, so I feel little pressure to add any cookers. I'd like to try a kamado style cooker of my own, and a UDS just because I like to build things.
If only Weber kettles wore out...
They don't wear out, but if you loan one to a friend for a pool party, maybe he will let it slide out of the bed of his truck onto a busy road. Presto, you're in the market for a new grill! Personal experience.

Yep. I used to have an Oklahoma joe which I sold, had my pit barrel cooker walk off (grrrrr). Now all I have is both the 22 & 18in wsm and a 18in weber grill but am about to put the 22in wsm on cl since I rarely ever use it.

Used to (no Blackstone) but I successfully thinned, and it wasn't easy. Now, it's just a Genesis, Performer, WSM, Jumbo Joe (for camping), and my new Daniel Boone. The herd is growing again, starting with the Daniel Boone, probably because my deck's too big and the fact that I gave up my Honda and playing tennis and have needs to fill. I look at my cookers arranged on the deck and all I see are empty spaces where other cookers should be.

I went to buy a Weber 22" kettle on Craig's List just for the lid to use for a UDS, but it was so nice I had to keep it.

Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.

Seems I am the odd man out... I used to have a patio full of cookers. A couple of years ago, I was forced to thin the herd due to a move and a much smaller cooking area in our new backyard. I am down to a pellet muncher, Weber kettle and a Camp Chef griddle. I have actually found that I enjoy it slim and simple.

Hello? Hellllo??? Why is no one talking to me anymore?!?! Did I say something wrong?

That's how I ended up with my 3rd kettle. I had planned to cut the bottom out of it with the leg mounts intact and mount it inside the bottom of my ~1965 kettle with rusted out leg mounts.
Turns out, the older gentleman had gotten the CL kettle as an unwanted gift and only used it once.
I couldn't cut it up.
Still looking for a not-so-nice kettle for the leg mounts....

Too bad you're so far away I've got a kettle bottom you could have.

Appreciate the offer JB!
I'm sure there's one out there that will find me sooner or later!

Because we're deciding for fate for major forum rules violations...

Now after posting this I realized I go from 5’6” ultralight to 6’6” Medium.
I’m gonna have to get a 6’ Light spinning combo for Sand Bass now.........:heh:

We have a small house, on a small and awkward lot, and a small back yard. She has been fairly accommodating to my outdoor cooker desires. We've negotiated ways to make both of us happy. When I bought home the Copperhead she wasn't horribly thrilled when I said I intended to keep my horizontal pellet burner.

Having used it for a few weeks now, I don't see he need for the first one. The food is better, and the spaces is an insane improvement. I was telling a buddy how I might sell the first one and he had an entire speech on "is it really worth the few bucks, just to get rid of it, when you MIGHT need it later" and I responded with "well, I could fill the space with a blackstone griddle" and suddenly he was on board.

That said, I did just message someone tonight about a Weber Performer, so the count is still going up before I sell anything..
