First off, I want to congratulate all of the teams for doing a fantastic job on their entries.....and of course to all the winners. Dana and I were head judges and got a chance to try pretty much all of the turn ins and they were all really good. The teams really knocked it out of the park on their chef's choice. Incredible presentations and the creativity was great. They all really got the point of this category and let their culinary skills shine......so here are the results

No story, I just got killed by the judges. Would have helped if I actually f'd something up but I thought I was in it with each category. I had an awesome time either way!!!

It was a long ride home though I took my last place dry aged ribeye, bacon and wild mushroom polenta, and reduced red wine and added them to some jalepeno and butter poached lobster for dinner. Suck on that judges. The second image is my tasteless dry aged ribeye...

Yep, can't do any worse. Everyone should definitely put this on their to-do list next year when it turns to a full KCBS contest.

I can't say much about the judging. There were only two KCBS certified judges of the twelve seated. One has never judged before. The location was excellent. This will become a really nice venue when it becomes a sanctioned event. I felt most of the entrees were excellent and all the teams did a great job.
