one quick question?
I'm not the best at online navigation, Maybe just don't know the questions to ask. Anyways was doing some searching around for a database that contained existing, registered names of bbq establishments...And competition team names....
One day, (not going to happen anytime soon so I should probably be looking into a lot of other more important things first), I would like to be competing, and maybe even making a few bucks...Wow!!!My dream!!!Doin' Que' and gettin' money too!.. I've gotta' few ideas in mind, but need to verify that they are not already in use. Thanks, Firecrackerjack ____________ Diamondplate pit 60 Chargriller pro/sfb |

I don't believe that was the answer he was looking for.
this is what I did, I went to godaddy, or who ever you want to use, to see if my name(s) isn't already taken, then I went to kansas, and federal gov. sites and see if a company doesn't have that name. then I just got my (forgot what it's called) fed income thingy, LLC in my state, and parked my website name, all under 100 bucks. EDIT: I also use KCBS (or whatever assocation in you neck of woods) to kinda keep my name. I think anyone can call themselfs anything they want, its just respect, don't use another member name. PM me if you like, with any other questions. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info,
Don't mean to ask dumb questions....Just what I need to do sometimes. By kansas do you mean kcbs? And I tried to find websites but had no luck....I will try your suggestions and try to dig a little deeper to see what I can find....Thanks again man... Firecrackerjack Quote:

Here is a good start for Comp Names http://www.bbqteamnames.com/
If you plan on starting a business, I also suggest doing a LLC Federal and state search Business Name. Understand that the Comp Team names are not all listed as you do not have to belong to the BBQ association to compete, and only the BBQ Association members are listed.

also try searching (for registered business names) the u.s. copyright office, trademark office, & library of congress.
google doesn't hurt either.
