UDS Complete!
Finally finished my UDS! Tonight, I will do a seasoning burn, as well as play around with temps. I tried to stay as simple as possible.
One question. How can I tell if a machine screw is galvanized? I used all stainless, except for the side handles because I ran out of stainless and I didn't want to make the trek to Lowes for 8 bolts. I just don't want to poison anyone with zinc. They don't appear to me to be galvanized, because they are shiny metal, and not that dull gray that Galvanized usually looks like. And the packaging didn't say anything about it. |

I don't think Zinc will give off any fumes until about 900 degrees or so. I wouldn't worry about using Zinc coated bolts for the handles. But soak 'em if it makes you feel better.
