He's the grilling guy on PBS. I've watched the show a few times but it seems like he does a lot of grilling instead of BBQing.

Great guy and outstanding teacher for the beginner. He guides the reader every step of the way assuming no prior knowledge and thus not skipping any steps in reference to his HOW TO GRILL and BARBECUE BIBLE.

I'll pass on Raichlen, but that "A Tribute To Antone's" looks killer!

Hence the name "Primal Grill".

I caught the steak show a couple of weeks ago and liked it. My wife thought he looked like a 70's porn guy. Bow-chicka-wow-wow ...

I might have to take a look at his books.

He does many of his shows about a hour from my home in the Tubac, Arizona area. Never seen him in person but catch him on the PBS. Kind of a Love/Hate type of show. One thing that burns me is when he fires up his brand new Big Green Egg he always refers to it as an old Kamado style BBQ. I think if he is using a BGE, he should plug just what it is.

He probably can't plug it. I would bet that Weber would have something to say. Also, if he is not getting paid to use the product, many shows will not let you use the name.

I thought about that but you can clearly see the Big Green Egg logo on the Dome... Seems Weber and BGE are coexisting so why not help each other and make mention of the Cookers being used. I guess you may be right and it is his choice not to mention them if he is not getting an endorsement fee, but I would venture to say he is. What are the companies getting out of it by just letting him use them for free?

His show seems to be just about grilling. He seems a bit strange to me. There are many other food shows which I prefer over his. Something about his shows just rubs me the wrong way.

Weber advertises at the beginning and end of the show, so I'm guessing they also contribute $ to keep the show goin.

Plus, if you watch the show, sometimes you see them (and sometimes they're in the background)- ranch kettles. I've seen them in at least one of his shows.

I have one of his books. I really don't care for it. Recipes seem to be a lttle over the top for me. I would go if he was having a 'Book refund'!
