Smokemaster Question

I googled smokemaster and found this on another site. I don't anything about them:

I just joined your forum today and I am now building Smokemaster pits under a new name, Big Hat Bar-B-Q Smokers and Grills. Don Burnett, Smokemaster owner, retired from building his grills about 5 years ago. My partner and I met with Mr. Burnett, borrowed a few of his original pits, set up our own fabrication also in Austin, Texas and are using his designs for our models. We've just started setting up our dealer network and are very new to this wild world of bar-b-q. We are building an incredible product focusing on quality and function and we charge a fair price for it. Thanks, I hope you'll give us a look.

That looks like an original Oklahoma Joe! Ask westexbbq, he's got an original but I don't know if it's a smokemaster. The guy that makes Yoder's used to make those I think.

On edit, there was an original OK Joe 16" in the Memphis area that was 400 that I would have jumped all over if I had had the money.

I sent the dude an email to see if he could give me some more info.

I am a little suspicious of anyone who doesn't post any pricing on their website (and neither do any of their dealers). I usuall figure that indicates something a bit pricey. That being said, I am in the market for something like the 2040 and I could drive the two hours to Austin to pick it up if I knew how much it costs.

Turtle...............

If you are interested in the "Tejas2040CC", go for it,I have one and love it.
I did a little Mod. on it(cut the throat down, baffel with 1/4"plate-solidly seperating it from the FB,down to 4"-to-5" below the Grate and Plated from there on to where the warmer starts w/1/4" Plates and rails/w locks)
This Smoker has given me a lot of good smokes and the Mods. work great.
The reason for the Mods. is it is originally made for using water.Ha!
With these few Mods. it does almost good as a higher price unit(don't want to make anyone mad):becky:.
Here is a little of my smoker:
