I usually make sliders in the house but wanted to try a batch on the drum.
When I make these in the house, I just brown the burger and spoon it onto a bun instead of forming patties.

I mixed 1 1/2 lbs of burger with
1 pkg of onion soup mix
1 egg
some worcestershire sauce
about 1/3 cup of catsup
and 1/4 cup of water.

Wrapped some of the patties in bacon..

Smoked with a small bit of mesquite,
I put them around the outside of the drum, it cooks cooler than the center.

They took a little over an hour..

I use hawaiian sweet rolls for my sliders. I just like them the best.

I cut the rolls open, add a burger and top with cheese. Then flatten them with the palm of my hand.

The flattened sliders go back into the cooker for 15 minutes (wrapped).

They are ready when the cheese is nice and melted..

Bret and Ken, those rolls are really tasty. I hope you can find them Bret.
Ross, I dipped them in beer batter and fried them. 71 was kind enough to post a link to how I did them. Thanks 71!
Shawn....lol Thanks!

Darn you cowgirl! Those look so much better then the shepards pie I'm getting ready to have.

So a slider is a burger? Dont get me wrong - they look delicious. But around here, we call a pint of liquer a slider.

'cause they slide around under your seat. Well, that was back when drinkin and drivin was legal.

Thank you folks!
Brauma, I hadn't heard that before...thanks for the info!
I'm not sure where the term slider came from. I've always heard it referred to the little greasy burgers you buy by the sack full.
White Castle makes some pretty good ones. :)

oh, those look good....I'm drooling onto my keyboard now...

Those look great. Too good to be sliders. From my understanding they call them sliders because they are that greasy.

Great looking sliders, Cowgirl. You definitely come up with some tasty looking treats.:eusa_clap
