That is awesome... That was Harry & Benny's 7th GC, but unfortunately one of their GCs turned out to be a non-qualifier because they didn't get the number of teams needed...
One more and they are on their way to the Jack... Good luck next weekend you guys. Congrats to all the other winners in this one as well.

Congrats!
The grand prize "trophy" was a guitar signed by B.B. King who was the headliner at the Blues concert following the competition - awesome trophy! This was my first judging event and I was impressed by the quality of the BBQ. Had to be 100 degrees plus at turn-in time. Congrats to all the brethren and to Harrah's for a great inaugural event.
 Good luck on #8 Harry & Benny!

The trophy was a Gibson guitar autographed BB King and Buddy Guy. Harry and I will try our best at Konocti (Lakeport CA). Most of the other competitors know we usually pull in late Fridays because Harry tries to get in a few hours of work at his job. This time, we will leave on Thursday night. Hope getting there early will not throw us off our game. Benny |

Congrats to all the Brethren that walked! Big Poppa'a got plenty of exercise trotting up for calls, and Big Matt and the Left Coast crew nailed down the coveted first-place brisket -- we screamed when we heard them called!
This was our first outing in a minivan rather than a trailer -- four WSMs, two tents, three 6' tables and assorted smaller tables, a Cambro, a 2XL cot, some supply and tool boxes, it ALL went in there! We must have gotten the pack right, because there was never a point where we searched wildly for something on Saturday morning. We'll do it again this weekend, and then figure out what else we can leave out.
