I would not underestimate his cooking chops, the folks I know that have eaten his food going back to Commander's all say the food is excellent. I do not like his show much now, but, his food i will remain open about.

His new show is not that good and his recipes contain alot of ingredients but I ate at one of his restaurants in Miami (South Beach) and the food was awesome but pricey.
