Default Question on which bbl to use for a USD?

I called a couple local companies and they have "new" drums, and "reconditioned" drums. The reconditioned drums are considdered hazzardous. They don`t know what was in the drums before reconditioning.

The new drums ($95) are out of stock for a few weeks. Reconditioned drums ($25) are available for sale.

Is there a difference in the drums hazzard wise?

Will the "new" drum need to be burned? If so why? The drum is new?

If the new drums are lined - yes they will need burning out.
The reconditioned drums are probably also lined and burning them out will make them good to go if you ask me.

Ask the reconditioning place if they can pull one out of the reconditioning process pre-paint/lining. THat's what I do. If the sales offices says no just ask the guy at the pickup place.

Ya might ask what "reconditioning" consists of. Sometimes all the do is sandblast the drum and paint the outside. If that's the case. your good to go with a burn out.

Moda -

One of you other posts led me to Consolidated Container Company, and I will be going up there today to pick up a barrel. The person I have been dealing with says I can only get one painted. Have you had luck getting a unpainted barrel by asking in the guys when picking it up?

Yeah the lady tells me that they don't do that, but ask the guy in the little room where you go to pick it up out back and see if he can get you one of the ones that were reconditioned but haven't been painted yet. I hope that he doesn't get tired of this request and start nope-ing us, but that's what I did last time.

however even if you don't get an unpainted one, you won't get a lined one and the paint is easy enough to burn off. That's what I had with my first one.
