I made a few pepper holders that have holes about 1.25" - 1.5" across.

By pepper holder , do you mean ground black pepper? or like jalapeno's that you are going to roast?

What I dislike about pepper holders is the bottoms turning to mush. From the heat trapped under it. Try to put some smaller holes to let the heat pass through along with the pepper holding holes.
