My apple wood score SPLIT & STACKED
Posted a while back about the lucky strike I had. My back property line is adjacent to a 100+ acre apple orchard and I've gotten to know the owners. Over the winter they were cutting down 2 full rows of 50 year old apple trees to replant new trees. I found out they do this every year. Some time ago, they let me come over with the chain saw and hack away for as much wood as I wanted. Ended up with about 3 truck loads. This was the result of the first truck load of logs. I finally had a chance to split the logs.
I've got about twice this much in about 4' logs that needs cut down and split. Looks like we'll be cooking with apple for competition season!

Nice. Good find. Will you be cutting them into smaller pieces for smoking?

Nope. That's that. Average size is about 4" diameter I'd say. Perfect for a Jambo.

If the orchard owners figure out they can sell it in chunks for good money, you may loose your free wood.
